The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with HRBPs in supporting all areas of human resources. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee onboarding, employee data administration, general HR inquiries, workers compensation administration and other administrative duties as assigned. Provides administrative support to the Human Resources department.

Handles the complete new hire onboarding process including new hire paperwork; background check, and systems set ups such as Exponent HR, ReThink and Central Reach.
I-9 and E-Verify processing, expirations and storing electronic document files.
Maintains and processes HRIS employee data and record keeping.
Monitors and responds to general HR related inquiries serving as first line resolution; escalates complex matters to appropriate subject matter experts.
Updates the HR department’s Standard Operating Procedures.
Work Comp administration and reporting of OSHA 300a log.
May be cross trained to other HR functions to assist when needed for peak volumes.
Performs general HR clerical functions as assigned.
High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years experience in general HR admin
Competencies:
Knowledge of principles and practices of Human Resource administration.
Effective verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills.
Must always maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and respond effectively to inquiries or issues.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with employees at all staff levels.
Strong Working knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of Exponent HR a plus
Must be a hands-on professional with the ability to multi-task and follow through on all matters
Ability to identify discrepancies and take initiative to research variances and correct
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret detailed documents.
Knowledge of applicable federal/state statutes and regulations
Ability to recognize what needs to be done, prioritize activities accordingly and meet deadlines.
Must be flexible and able to change with new information.
